Dark circles are black blemishes around our eyes. Eyes are one of the beautiful gift given by the god to humans. So it is our duty to maintain the beauty of this precious gift. Everyone love their eyes as it makes our face look more attractive. No matter how good our nature is and how good we speak to others but the face is the first thing that helps a lot in making a good impression on others. But if we have dark, puffy bags under our eyes it not only attacks or lowers our self esteem but it can be quite embarrassing. Dark circles also make one look more older than their actual age.



 




HOW DARK CIRCLES APPEAR ON OUR FACE



There are web like tiny blood vessels around our eyes. Sometimes these blood vessels get broken and the blood leaks into our surrounding skin. This leakage in capillaries makes our skin look dark under the eyes. The skin under the eyes is very thin and the dark circles look more darker on the people who have more thinner skin under the eyes.


CAUSES


  • Improper sleep makes skin under the eyes more darker. So it is very important for a person to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

  •  Aging is the major reason for the dark circles. As we grow older the skin becomes more thinner and it makes dark circles under the eyes more visible.

  •  The dark circles may also appear due to hereditary  and genetics.

  •  It may also be due to improper diet. The person who doesn’t take proper balanced diet may have the problem of dark circles.

  • The excessive smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages makes the dark circles under the eyes to appear more darker.

  • Dehydration is also one of the main reasons of dark circles. The dark circles appear under the eyes due to loss of water from the body.

  • It also causes due to more exposure to the sun.  It produces more melanin under the eyes and makes them look more darker.

  • During pregnancy and menstruation period, the skin undergoes a lot of hormonal changes and causes dark circles.

  • It can also be caused due to rubbing of eyes.

  •  It can also be caused by allergies such as hay fever, dust and mold allergy.  These  allergies makes the area under the eyes darker.

  •  It can also be caused due to Anemia.

  •  It may also be caused due to stress.

  •  The sinus problem may also cause dark circles.

  •  The high blood pressure could be the reason of dark circles. The high blood  pressure makes the blood to flow faster in our capillaries and veins, it     makes the capillaries weaker and causes dark circles.



WHAT KIND OF DEFICIENCY CAUSE DARK CIRCLES


Due to deficiency of some vitamins and minerals in the body, one can have dark circles under eyes. These deficiencies weakens the blood vessels (capillaries) and cause area around the eyes to appear darker.
The deficiency of the following could be the reason of dark circles:-

IRON


Its deficiency is the common reason for dark circles. The deficiency of iron causes anemia and due to this deficiency there is less supply of oxygen in our blood and this poor supply of oxygen in our body tissues cause dark circles.


     VITAMIN A


Deficiency of vitamin A  also causes dark circles under eyes as vitamin A  helps in  repairing the skin tissues and making the vision keen. It also contains antioxidants which protect our skin from harm, wrinkles and thinning.


VITAMIN C


Vitamin C protects our skin from getting damage from the sun and helps in reducing the dark circles. It also helps in absorbing iron from the food so it is very important for health.


VITAMIN E


Its deficiency cause dark circles as it is also an antioxidant and protects our skin & maintain its naturality from harmful radiations of sun , pollution and other free radicals.


VITAMIN K


It helps in healing the damaged capillaries and it  makes the blood that are circulated around the eyes to clot properly so that it is very important and its deficiency is the main reason for causing dark circles.

IRON RICH FOOD 



                      
As we discussed above how much iron is helpful for skin and eyes so it is very important to add iron rich food in our diet. The good sources of iron are spinach, kidney , leafy vegetables , egg yolks , red meat , soyabean , lentils , liver , chickpeas.



VITAMIN A RICH FOOD




                         
The good sources of vitamin A are carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, spinach , beef , kale , collards , turnip , mango, apricot , eggs , peach.



VITAMIN C RICH FOOD


                        

The food that contains vitamin C are bell peppers, strawberries , broccoli , oranges , tomatoes , potatoes , papaya , peaches and sprouts.


VITAMIN E RICH FOOD




                
The food that contains vitamin E are almonds , red chilly powder , pine nuts  , apricot , green olives , spinach , wheat , tropical fruits , kale.

                    HOME REMEDIES


    
  • Grate one potato and take out its juice. Now apply this juice around your eyes and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Apply this twice a day.


  • Apply lemon juice around your eyes for 15 minutes. It helps in reducing the darkness.


  • Rub an ice cube very slightly around the eyes. It helps in removing the dark circles.


  • Mix cucumber juice, lemon juice, lanolin cream and make a paste, then applied around the eyes fir 20 minutes.


  • Cool the used teabag in the refrigerator and close your eyes and leave it there for 15 minutes.


  • Place the cucumber slices on your eyes to remove the puffiness and for refreshing the eyes.


  • Dip the cotton balls in rose water (gulab jal)  and place it on your eyes.


  • Massage your eyes with almond oil slightly with your fingers.


  • Make a paste of one spoon turmeric powder, one spoon pineapple juice, one spoon tomato juice ,4-5 drops of lemon juice and applied around your eyes for 20 minutes. After that wash your eyes.


  • Mix 1 tbsp apple juice and 1 tbsp lemon juice and apply this on the area around your eyes. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse off your eyes. It lighten the …...dark circles.



1)- Use good under eye cream daily at night.


2)-Take a sleep for 7-8 hours daily.


3)- Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from sun.


4)- Drink lots of water.


5)- Take a proper balanced diet and avoid stress.


6)- Reduce the quantity of salt in your food.


7)- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Consult your doctor as it may be due to some internal problem.


6)- Avoid rubbing your eyes.
